CHAPEL HILL ACADEMY ANNUAL SCIENCE / TECHNOLOGY FAIR AND ART SHOW

Dear Parents:

Soon your child will be taking part in an exciting school event – the Science and Technology Fair and Art Show, which  will    be held Thursday, May 15, 2008.  Science and technology fairs offer children experiences in exploring beyond the classroom to understand more about their world.  Investigating a selected science or technology topic in detail can open up a new appreciation for not only this planet but also the worlds beyond.

Our art show, held at the same time in the gymnasium, will display a representative sample of our students’ artistic efforts produced since September.  We are extremely proud of the creative and vivid imaginations as well as the technical achievement of our young aspiring artists.  We invite you to participate in this event by taking time to view the artwork on display and congratulating your children on  their efforts. Thank you for your time and cooperation.

PARENT AND CHILD PARTICIPATION:

There are several ways for your child to participate in the science fair part of the evening. One way is with a Family science project.  With your interest and encouragement your child can have a valuable learning experience. Working along side and guiding your child at home with a science project will be a rewarding time for everyone.

If you are interested in participating with your child, in this years’ science fair, please fill in the attached form and return it to us by April 25, 2008. To help you in helping your child to prepare for the science fair we have available, in our classroom, instructions and suggestions that may help guide you through the process.  There is a vast assortment of projects for you and your child to choose from. 

We look forward to your participation in our upcoming evening of science and art. Please call us at any time during the   upcoming  months with any questions you may have.  The real goal of the science and technology fair is to stimulate your child’s curiosity about the world.  It will be a pleasure to work along with you and your family to help attain that goal.
