Chapel Hill Academy offers students an opportunity to participate in our Extended School Year Program. Eligibility is IEP driven and based on potential regression of academic, behavioral, emotional or social skills.
Schedule: July 5th- August 15th for ESY 2017 
Hours: 9:00-2:00

Scholastic Adventure Program

Students, who are on or above grade level academically, will be eligible to study the history, geography, culture, botanical and animal landscape New Jersey has to offer. All subjects will be thematically based. Field trips, hands on research and exploration will be utilized and enhanced with rich literature and technology on a daily basis. There will be a focus on peer interaction and the enhancement of social skills through group and individual counseling, as well as, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy.

Academic Exploration Program

Students will continue in their reading, math and language arts books. Remediation, individual attention and review of basic skills will be included daily. A social studies and science unit touching upon the history and geography of New Jersey will be studied. Field trips, hands on research and exploration will be utilized and enhanced with rich literature and technology on a daily basis. Counseling (both group and individual), OT and Speech will be available.

Academics and Career Exploration Program

Students in 9th-12th grade will be able to supplement their academic coursework, remediate academic concerns and enrich their academic skills through concentrated exploration. Students will complete an interest inventory, fill out job applications and research personal career opportunities. The CHA work program, community involvement and field trips will be utilized.

All students are part of the Summer Physical Education Program, consisting of water sports and games. A five foot high water slide, obstacle course, fishing and swimming at the Lincoln Park Lake and hiking are just some of the offerings. Peer interaction, social skills, group and individual counseling, OT and Speech will also be available.
